Official Trump (ticker TRUMP) is a Solana memecoin launched by Donald Trump on the evening of 17 January 2025 (US time), three days before his second inauguration.[1][2]
Lore[edit]
Trump announced the coin on Truth Social and X.[1] Of the 1 billion supply, 200 million tokens were tradable at launch; CIC Digital LLC, a Trump Organization affiliate, and Fight Fight Fight LLC, a Delaware company, hold about 80%, unlocking over three years.[2] The project's site says the token is "not intended to be an investment opportunity."[2]
TRUMP rose from under $25 to a peak of $73.43 early on 19 January 2025, briefly entering CoinGecko's top 15 with a circulating market cap near $12 billion; Binance and OKX listed it that day.[3] It fell as much as 48% the same evening when Melania Meme launched.[4]

- 2025-05-22: dinner for the top 220 holders at Trump's golf club in Virginia[6]
Key wallets[edit]
According to Bubblemaps, one address funded about four hours before launch bought $1 million of TRUMP in the first minute, sold $20 million and still held $96 million shortly after.[2]
Controversies[edit]
Critics in the crypto industry accused the launch of being a "rug pull", and ethics concerns centred on a sitting president profiting from a token.[2] A Financial Times analysis, reported by Cointelegraph, estimated about $314 million from token sales plus $36 million in fees went to the creators within weeks, and pointed to possible price support with $291 million in USDC.[5]
The holder dinner drew criticism over foreign influence: Bloomberg found 19 of the top 25 wallets almost certainly belonged to people outside the US, and the top wallet, "Sun", was believed to belong to Tron founder Justin Sun.[6]
