Lore[edit]

CoinDesk's asset page describes Zerebro as an autonomous AI that makes and monetises content, including NFTs and tokens, posting on X, Warpcast and Telegram and minting NFTs on Polygon.[3] It launched in late October 2024, during the AI-agent run that followed Truth Terminal and Goatseus Maximus.[3]

By early May 2025 the token had fallen to about $41 million in market cap.[1]

Controversies[edit]

Reported death of Jeffy Yu

In early May 2025 a video shared on X appeared to show Yu dying by suicide, and an obituary appeared via Legacy.com; the obituary was removed because it lacked confirmation of death.[1] The San Francisco and San Mateo coroner's offices told Decrypt that no one surnamed Yu had died in the area since 2 April.[1]

A blog post presented as posthumous promoted a "Legacoin" token, LLJEFFY, which reached about $105 million in market cap before falling more than 86%.[1] The Block reported that Bubblemaps data showed wallets tied to Yu moving up to $1.4 million after the reported death; those claims were unconfirmed.[4]

On 8 May 2025 the San Francisco Standard reported finding Yu alive. He told the reporter he had been "doxxed" and "harassed" and declined to discuss the death report or any gains from it.[5] Decrypt later described the episode as a faked death.[2]
