Truth Terminal is a semi-autonomous AI agent with its own X account, created by researcher Andy Ayrey. It became the first AI to make a memecoin famous.
Background[edit]
Truth Terminal grew out of Ayrey's experiments with AI models talking to each other, which produced the "Goatse Gospel", a crude mock religion. Its posts are generated by the AI and reviewed by Ayrey before they go out.
In July 2024 the investor Marc Andreessen sent Truth Terminal $50,000 in bitcoin as a grant. In October 2024 someone launched Goatseus Maximus and sent the agent tokens, and its posts about the coin made it worth hundreds of millions of dollars within days. Its jokes also inspired Fartcoin.
