Daddy Tate (ticker DADDY) is a Solana memecoin launched on 9 June 2024 and promoted by influencer Andrew Tate, whose wallet received 40% of supply from the deployer. It passed $300 million in market cap within days, amid Bubblemaps claims that insiders bought about 30% of supply before Tate's first post.[1][2][3]

Lore[edit]

Tate first referred to the token on 11 June 2024 and began promoting it actively early on 12 June. He said he chose DADDY as a rival to MOTHER, the token of rapper Iggy Azalea, to "flip it for the patriarchy".[1] DADDY passed $275 million on 12 June and reached $300 million at $0.30 on 13 June, when MOTHER had fallen from a $267.58 million peak on 6 June to about $153 million.[1][2] It was one of several celebrity memecoins of mid-2024; most of those launched in May were down about 90% from their highs by then.[3]

Timeline[edit]

  • 2024-06-09: launch; deployer sends 40% of supply to Tate's wallet at 21:24 UTC[3]
  • 2024-06-11: Tate's first post about the token[2]
  • 2024-06-12: Bubblemaps publishes insider-buying claims; market cap above $275 million[1][2]
  • 2024-06-13: market cap about $300 million, passing MOTHER[2]

Key wallets[edit]

  • Andrew Tate: received 40% of supply from the deployer at launch. As of 13 June 2024 his wallets had not sold, and he had bought and burned about $10,000 of tokens.[1][3]
  • Early buyers: Bubblemaps said 11 wallets funded through Binance in nearly identical amounts bought about 20% of supply on 9 June, before Tate's first post, and that further linked clusters held about 10%.[2][3]

Controversies[edit]

Bubblemaps alleged that insiders bought about 30% of supply at launch. It could not confirm that the 11 wallets belonged to one group but said the timing and amounts strongly suggested so, and warned that a single wallet selling could crash liquidity.[2] CoinDesk noted that pools held just over $2.4 million in liquidity, so early buyers could not sell full positions at quoted prices.[3] Tate said: "I will never sell what was sent to my wallet, I will only burn and buy."[1]
