Kimchi (@kimchi1x) is a pseudonymous Solana memecoin trader who says he made about $40 million trading TRUMP after its January 2025 launch. On-chain investigator Specter said there is no verifiable evidence for the figure, and Bubblemaps estimated his TRUMP profit at about $6 million.[3][2] In October 2026 pump.fun signed him as a creative partner.[1]
Background[edit]
Kimchi trades under a pseudonym and has not published a real name in the sources reviewed. Coinspeaker reported that "a Kimchi" became crypto slang for $40 million, and that his X feed is dominated by luxury cars and watches, which some traders have picked apart.[1]
Notable trades[edit]
Early 2024 launches
On-chain investigator Specter, as reported by Odaily, examined a wallet Kimchi shared in an X reply in April 2024. Specter said it bought STAR in the same minute the token was deployed on 2024-05-30 (about $407 in, $45,600 out), DADDY ANSEM two minutes after deployment on 2024-06-11 (about $730 in, $14,600 out) and MUVA one minute after deployment on 2024-06-26 (about $407 in, $53,000 out).[3] Specter said exchange deposit clustering linked five more wallets to the same MUVA launch bundle.[3]
TRUMP
Kimchi's claimed TRUMP profit is usually given as about $40 million.[1] Specter wrote in July 2026 that "there is no verifiable evidence" that Kimchi made eight-figure profits from TRUMP.[3] In October 2026 Bubblemaps traced wallets it linked to him and put his TRUMP profit at roughly $6 million, adding that its trace covered only part of the wallet cluster, so a larger hidden address was possible but unproven.[2] No response from Kimchi to either analysis was reported.[2][3]
Pump.fun partnership[edit]
- 2026-10-20: pump.fun announced Kimchi as a creative partner, the same day its app began selling Rolex prize packs amid competition with Fomo. Co-founder Alon called him "the first ever example of a trader becoming a celebrity".[1]
- 2026-10-20: a KIMCHI token launched on pump.fun as Kimchi's vlog went live and reached a reported $35–44 million market cap within an hour.[1][4] Analyst Ai Yi, cited by Coinspeaker, said Kimchi held 75.32% of its supply and withdrew 1.35 billion PUMP (about $6.43 million) over three hours.[1] In the vlog Kimchi described pump.fun as "the company that I'm like investing in".[4]
- Bitquery found that three unattributed wallets sniped the new KIMCHI token and netted about $105,900 across it and an older token of the same name. It did not link those wallets or the deployer to Kimchi on-chain.[5]
- 2026-10-22: Kimchi's account posted a "Project Kimchi" street poster with a QR code pointing to a new pump.fun token, which Alon reposted. The token reached about $15 million, then fell more than 98% after both posts were deleted about 30 minutes later.[2][6]
Controversies[edit]
- Early reports said Kimchi's X account had been hacked during the Project Kimchi episode; on-chain investigators questioned this, citing Alon's quick repost and removal. Neither Kimchi nor pump.fun confirmed a hack.[2]
- Kimchi removed pump.fun from his X bio and deleted earlier posts about joining the platform.[2][6]
- Lookonchain said, per ForkLog, that several wallets bought Project Kimchi early and sold for more than $385,000 in profit.[6]
- Kimchi, Alon and pump.fun had made no public statement on the episode at the time of reporting.[2][6]
