Ansem (X: @blknoiz06) is a crypto trader and influencer whose real name, according to CoinDesk, is Zion Thomas.[1] CoinDesk named him "The Memecoin King" in its 2024 Most Influential list.[1]
Background[edit]
He started posting in 2020, tweeting each coin he bought as a public trading journal to an audience of about 100 followers.[1] He became known for early calls on Solana and Avalanche, and later for bullish posting on Solana memecoins.[1] By December 2024 he had about 600,000 followers on X.[1]
Style[edit]
CoinDesk reported that his largest positions are swing trades, long and short, on BTC, ETH and other major assets rather than memecoins.[1] He describes his method as reading charts, marking trading zones, timing entries and knowing when to sell.[1]
Notable trades[edit]
- dogwifhat: began promoting it at a market cap of about $100,000; it later passed $3 billion.[1] In March 2025 Lookonchain reported a wallet it labels "Ansem" bought about 2.97 million WIF for 2.3 million USDC.[2]
- The Black Bull (ANSEM): a pump.fun token launched by an anonymous deployer in June 2026, who sent 650 million tokens to Ansem's wallet.[3] Lookonchain reported his portfolio gained more than $193 million in one week as the token passed a $190 million market cap in early July 2026.[3]
Controversies[edit]
On-chain investigator ZachXBT accused him of promoting tokens and then selling into the buying his posts created; Ansem denies this.[1]
On 2024-12-06 he boxed YouTuber Bitboy (Ben Armstrong) at Crypto Fight Week in Dubai; the four-round bout was scored a draw. He had lost his amateur debut in April 2024.[1]
