Silly Dragon (ticker SILLY) is a dragon-themed Solana memecoin launched in December 2023, inspired by Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko dressing as a dragon on Halloween 2023.[1][2]
Lore[edit]
Yakovenko ("Toly") cosplayed as Silly Dragon at Solana Breakpoint 2023 in Amsterdam and on 2023-11-08 posted about the "Year of the Silly Dragon"; the team also cites the Chinese Year of the Dragon.[1] According to the team, SILLY launched on 2023-12-05 at about 0.00002875 USDT and reached 0.15 USDT within about 20 days.[1] On 2023-12-27 it traded at $0.147 with a market cap above $140 million, and KuCoin listed it the same day.[2][3] It had fallen to about 0.019 USDT by early 2024.[1]
The team airdropped compressed NFTs to Solana Mobile users and ran Lunar New Year rewards; it says these brought holders to about 32,000.[1]
