Gigachad (ticker GIGA) is a Solana memecoin based on the "Gigachad" meme, black-and-white images of a heavily edited, chiselled man.[1][2]
Lore[edit]
The images were made by Russian photographer Krista Sudmalis for her Sleek'N'Tears project and are photoshopped composites of several models.[1] The man most associated with them is Ernest Khalimov, who runs the berlin.1969 art account; the coin presents itself as honouring him.[1][2] The name "Gigachad" was first applied to his photo on 4chan's /pol/ board on 2017-10-16.[1]
GIGA has a supply of 9.6 billion tokens and an all-time high of about $0.095.[2] In June 2024 the GIGA community announced Giga Fitness, an apparel brand; Khalimov's Instagram announced a partnership with it on 2024-06-28.[1]
Coinbase added GIGA to its listing roadmap in December 2024, and the token jumped 37%.[3] On 2025-04-14 Coinbase suspended GIGA trading for New York users after what it called a review of its listed assets, alongside FLOKI and TURBO; the token stayed listed elsewhere.[3]
