Ponke launched at the end of 2023 and spread on social media in 2024; the team claims more than 2 billion views across Instagram and TikTok.[1][2] In July 2024 it reached an all-time high of $0.6744, up about 7,170% from its 2024-01-03 low, and ranked sixth among Solana memecoins behind dogwifhat, Bonk, Popcat, Book of Meme and cat in a dogs world.[2]
Binance Futures launched a PONKEUSDT perpetual with up to 75x leverage on 2024-11-04 and settled and removed it on 2025-11-28.[3][4] In August 2025 the project sold a plush toy of the monkey, with removable helmet and magnetic blunt, made with JCorp spinout 223.[1]
