Lore[edit]
Peanut was a squirrel kept by Mark Longo in New York State and popular on social media. On 30 October 2024 state environmental officials seized Peanut and a raccoon and euthanised both. The story spread days before the 2024 US presidential election and became a political talking point.
A coin launched on pump.fun the next day and climbed into the billions of dollars in market cap within weeks, with exchange listings, Binance among them, in November 2024.
