Editing Moonshot

**Moonshot** is a [[Solana]] memecoin launchpad and self-custodial trading app that lets users buy tokens with Apple Pay and cards; it began as a launchpad from the data site [[DEX Screener]] in June 2024.[^1][^2] It rose to the top of the US App Store's finance chart during the launch of [[Official Trump|TRUMP]] and was majority-acquired by [[Jupiter]] in January 2025.[^3][^4]

## History
DEX Screener launched Moonshot on 24 June 2024 as a competitor to [[pump.fun]]: each token has a fixed supply of 1 billion, and once buyers add 500 SOL a [[Liquidity pool|liquidity pool]] is created on [[Raydium]], 150 to 200 million tokens are burned and LP tokens are burned to lock liquidity; [[Memecoin presale|presales]] and insider allocations are banned.[^1] About 7,000 tokens were created in its first day, of which 27 reached the 500 SOL threshold.[^1] Cointelegraph dates the self-custodial Moonshot app, built on TurnkeyHQ, to July 2024.[^2]

## Notable events
Moonshot was listed on the TRUMP website as a preferred way to buy the token launched on 17 January 2025.[^3] Moonshot said it processed nearly $400 million in volume within 12 hours and brought over 200,000 people on-chain; it reached first place in the US App Store finance category and seventh among free apps, having been 309th in finance on 1 January.[^3][^2] It reported 1 million daily active users by 20 January, and also rose after [[Melania Meme]] launched.[^2][^4] At its Catstanbul event on 25 January 2025 Jupiter announced a majority stake in Moonshot for an undisclosed sum.[^4] By 8 July 2025, when [[LetsBonk]] led Solana launchpads, Moonshot held 1.7% of the market.[^5]
