Michi (ticker MICHI) is a cat-themed Solana memecoin named after a cat picture that circulated as a meme before the token existed. It launched in April 2024, one of several 2024 Solana cat coins alongside Popcat and cat in a dogs world, and moved to a new token contract in early 2026.[1][3]

Lore[edit]

On 8 April 2024, the day its Raydium pool opened, one trader bought 5.62 million MICHI for 20 SOL (about $3,540); according to Lookonchain the trader eventually took about $1.88 million out of the position.[2]

On 10 June 2024 Ariana Grande reposted a fan edit of the Michi image, referencing her video "The Boy Is Mine", on her Instagram story. MICHI rose about 3% to $0.22 in the following hours, then 18% to $0.26 within an hour after Ansem posted about it.[1]

Migration

In February 2026 the project announced a token swap through migrate.fun, with a deadline of 10 March 2026, 18:00 UTC. CoinEx declined to support the swap and delisted MICHI, closing deposits on 27 February 2026.[3]
