Axiom (also Axiom Exchange) is a browser-based trading platform for Solana tokens, used heavily for memecoins, that also offers perpetual futures through Hyperliquid.[1] It was co-founded by Henry Zhang ("Mist") and Preston Ellis ("Cal") and incubated in Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch.[1]

History[edit]

The founders were 22-year-old University of California, San Diego graduates who had worked at TikTok and DoorDash.[1] The Block dates the company to 2024; Axiom opened early access in late January 2025 and to the wider public in mid-February 2025.[1][2] It reached $100 million in lifetime fees in about four months, by The Block's count from Dune and Token Terminal data; pump.fun took about eight months to reach the same mark.[1] By 7 July 2025 it had taken over $150 million in fees, served about 650,000 wallets and $15 billion in volume, and held 72% of Solana trading-bot volume, up from 2% in early February, according to DL News.[3] DL News called it the fastest Y Combinator company to $100 million in revenue.[3]

Products[edit]

Axiom routes swaps for Solana tokens including pump.fun launches, and adds wallet and X (Twitter) tracking, watchlists, yield on idle balances through MarginFi and planned SOL staking through Jito.[1][3] Trading fees ran from 0.95% at the base tier to 0.75% at the top tier as of May 2025, partly rebated in SOL, and a points programme led users to expect a possible airdrop, which DL News credited for much of its growth.[1][3] It overtook earlier platforms such as Photon and BullX.[3]

Controversies[edit]

On 26 February 2026 ZachXBT published an investigation, commissioned by others, alleging that a New York-based senior business development employee used Axiom's internal support tools to look up users' linked wallets and shared lists of private wallets belonging to KOLs; he said confirming specific insider trades would need Axiom's internal logs.[2] Axiom said it was "surprised and disappointed", removed employee access to the tools and said it would hold those responsible accountable.[2] Lookonchain reported that suspected insiders made about $1 million on Polymarket betting on the investigation's subject before publication.[4]
