cat in a dogs world (ticker MEW) is a cat-themed Solana memecoin launched in March 2024, presented as a cat holding its own in a memecoin market dominated by dog tokens. Its price peaked in November 2024 at a fully diluted value above $1 billion.[1][7]
Lore[edit]
MEW casts itself as the cat counterpart to dog coins such as Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, and on Solana to Bonk and dogwifhat.[1] Total supply is 88,888,888,888 tokens. According to KuCoin, the project burned 90% of its liquidity-pool tokens at launch and airdropped the remaining 10% to the Solana community.[1]
On 1 April 2024 Solana Mobile sent 37,600 MEW to every pre-order customer of its Chapter 2 phone.[2] MEW reached a market capitalisation of about $700 million in early April 2024.[3] In July 2024 the MEW cat was added as a character to Pixelverse's PixelTap Telegram game, the first Solana memecoin featured on TON.[3]
