Slerf is a sloth-themed Solana memecoin, best known for its developer accidentally burning the tokens meant for presale buyers.

Slerf ran a presale in March 2024 at the height of the presale wave that followed Book of Meme, raising roughly $10 million in SOL. Shortly after launch, the developer burned the token allocation that was meant to be airdropped to presale buyers, along with the liquidity tokens, so buyers received nothing.
The developer apologised publicly. The coin traded anyway: the story made it famous, and it posted billions of dollars of trading volume in its first days.
